Organized by the National Council of Press Patrons (CONAPP), the Open Days of the Togolese Press (JPO) close in Kara this January 17th with the night of journalists .
This 6th edition under the theme : "Media: social cohesion factor" brings together since Wednesday many media professionals who will have the opportunity to make themselves known and promote the Togolese press.
According to the program, there were some intensive planned activities.
Yesterday, Thursday 16 January, a roundtable of press bosses was organised; an initiative that allowed them to soak up the new press code adopted by the National Assembly a few weeks ago. The outlines have been dissected.
Following, exceptionally, Kanal Fm's "Club de la Presse" show was held live on the premises. Among other guests on the set, the representative of the Togolese Press Patronage PPT, Carlos KETOHOU.
The day will conclude with a workshop of critical importance in the run-up to the presidential election on 22 February: a workshop on the use of social media during an election campaign. For journalists, it was an opportunity to learn about what to do during the election period to carry out media coverage missions.
This Friday, January 17, 2020, the roundtable of media bosses will be animated. The exchanges will focus on the new media pricing plan; the challenge is to enforce this measure by all, for a real professionalization of this profession.
This edition will end tonight with the night of the journalists.
The Togolese Press Open Days (JPO) have always been an opportunity for members of this profession to promote the image of the press and journalistic work. For this year, the emphasis is on the important points of the new press regulations but also on the working conditions and the conduct to be taken during the election period.
Discussion sets and many other activities are planned.
As a reminder, the 5th edition was held in the city of Sokodé. Media players hailed the success of this edition under the leadership of CONAPP President El Hadj Arimiyao Tchagnao. This is evidenced by the satisfaction of the TPP representative on the radio ''I welcome the success of this edition and I congratulate the special touch given by my dear friend Tchagnao to the organization.'' said Carlos KETOHOU, Editor of the newspaper The independent Express.
