COVID-19: CASU offers equipment to Agbélouvé

(independantexpress.net)

Faced with the health emergency facing Togo today due to the spread of the corona pandemic, a collective response is needed to eradicate this pandemic. Beyond the actions of the government, any citizen taken individually or grouping together in an association must feel engaged in this struggle. In line with this logic, the association CASU made its contribution by offering on 15 April to the commune of Zio 3 a lot of materials needed in the response against the Covid-19.

The Corona virus pandemic, which is hitting the world hard, has not spared Togo. And the Togolese state is in response to this pandemic by taking certain measures by the government. This response, far from being merely a matter of the leaders, engages every citizen even more of the associations. At a time when the pandemic is making its way in the country, the association CASU (Club of Friends and Sympathizers United) has embarked on the fight against Covid-19. On Wednesday, April 15, 2020, a delegation from this association visited the commune of Zio 3 to offer a donation of materials to the people of this territorial community.

Received by the Mayor of Zio 3 in the person of DZENE Koffi Atsou in the canton of Abellouvé, this donation consists of three (3) water barrels with a capacity of 200 liters and thirty (30) cans of 1.5 liters of detergents. The idea is to place these containers in public places in the locality so that visitors to these places can wash their hands with drinking water and hydroalcoholic gel. Indeed, in the face of the spread of this pandemic, certain gestures of barriers help to cut the chain of transmission. These include regularly washing your hands with clean water and soap or with hydroalcoholic gel, coughing in the palm of your arm, observing a distance of at least one metre, not shaking hands or kissing, wearing a mask.

The action of the association CASU therefore reinforces the mechanisms to ensure barrier measures in the locality. For former President Beni AMEGAH-Wovoe of the association, while equipping the population of Zio 3 with the hand-washing device, the aim is to raise awareness about prevention and barrier measures against Covid-19.

Although no positive cases of Corona virus are currently identified within Zio 3, it is necessary for the population to strictly observe these barrier measures enacted by the World Health Organization in order to block the way for the spread of this pandemic.

The local mayor made no secret of his impressions after receiving the donation. "This donation was funded entirely by the members of the CASU association. This Corona virus problem is looking at us all. These are examples that we all need to follow to help people," said DZENE Koffi Atsou. The CASU delegation did not fail to encourage the mayor to increase the awareness of the populations of his municipality on compliance with the barrier measures.

Therefore, it should be remembered, CASU is an association made up of former students from the city of Tabligbo in Yoto who practice in humanitarian work. Through its endogenous resources, it has already been working for ten years in the field of health and education, in short in the social sector in several localities in Togo.

In this context of unprecedented health crisis, people need more than ever the help of all kinds of these different associations, which count in the hundreds on the national territory. For its part, CASU has just launched in the fight against Covid-19. It is therefore up to the people to respect these necessary barrier measures to cut the chain of transmission and limit the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
