Continuing their humanitarian work in the health field, a delegation from the CASU association visited Wednesday, December 4, 2019 in Agou. A health center in this prefecture was in difficulty. With the same dedication and unfailing zeal, the association did not hesitate to lend its support again.
KEBO-DZIGBE, a village located on Mount Agou at an altitude of about 850 m, is a peaceful place to live. But beyond this aspect, a needy population, a dilapidated and understaffed health center, an empty pharmacy, difficulties in accessing care. The Kebo-Dzigbé USP, the only health center in this locality, has little to offer residents. To help them, the CASU (United Friends and Sympathizers) association donated medicines.
Already last week, the CASU association was 7 km from Vogan, in Atahonou for a donation of pharmaceutical products. This time, the village of Kebo-Dzigbé was chosen.
On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, the members of the association went to Mount Agou, with the inhabitants of this small village to offer the dispensary essential medicines.
The situation was critical for this health center. Moreover, due to the lack of staff and the deplorable conditions of care, the residents had stopped using this health center. But now, with the help of the association, they can finally get medical treatment close to home without much difficulty. This CASU charity action made them happy.
Toussaint Etonyo, representative of the head of DPS of Agou expressed his gratitude for this initiative of the association. “We have been thinking about this drug shortage problem for a long time. Today, it is a joy for us that the CASU association has come to our aid, « he suggested.
Continuing in this direction, the president of the association, Mr. Sallah Iréné declared that the need was really glaring. Therefore, for a perpetually functional pharmacy, it is urgent to organize for an efficient management of the products and the funds generated. Also, the president urged the population of Kebo-Dzigbé to frequent more the health center: « The more the population will frequent the health center, the more there will be renewal of drugs until the pharmacy becomes independent « He said.
The members of the association hope that with this donation, the USP (Peripheral Care Unit) will become autonomous.
It should be remembered that CASU is an association created by former Tabligbo students and which aims to promote education, intervene in the protection of the environment and take action in the field of health.
The association will soon celebrate its 10 years; So she plans to expand her actions. A five-year strategic plan will soon be drawn up to carry out large-scale actions across the entire territory of Togo.
