It was part of one of the recommendations of the GOODIs roadmap. It is the recomposition of the Constitutional Court. On Monday, December 30, Aboudou ASSOUMA and his family took office after a solemn swearing-in ceremony in Lomé in the presence of Faure Gnassingbé.
"The head of state has given note to their oath and congratulated them for their commitment to the service of the nation," reads a note from the Presidency of the Republic.
The president of the main Togolese opposition party ANC, Jean Pierre FABRE, believes that there has been no recomposition. "Faure Gnassingbé once again surrounded himself with members of his family by marriage," he said.
The Constitutional Court is the highest constitutional court in the state. It consists of nine (09) recognized probity members, appointed for a six-year term renewable only once.
